What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard developed to allow AI assistants (such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code CLI, and Cursor IDE) to query external SaaS datasets securely and contextually without manual copy-pasting.

Through MyContentLab's MCP integration, AI assistants can:

• Inspect live marketing KPIs: Query cross-platform reach, engagement rates, ad spend, and ROAS for any managed client workspace.

The read-only security guarantee

Agency client data is mission-critical. Our MCP server enforces strict security boundaries:

• 100% read-only: MCP tools can only query and retrieve performance data. Connected AI agents cannot delete client workspaces, modify campaign budgets, or alter billing settings.
• Workspace scoping: Personal Access Tokens can be restricted to specific client workspaces to prevent data cross-contamination.
• Instant revocation: Organization owners can revoke access tokens immediately with one click from Settings → API & MCP.
