Google Search Console (GSC) integration guide
Connect Google Search Console (GSC) properties to MyContentLab to monitor organic SEO performance, keyword ranking movements, click-through rates, and emerging search query breakouts.
Overview and key benefits
Google Search Console provides direct, unfiltered organic search data from Google Search:
- Organic keyword tracking: Monitor the top queries driving organic impressions and clicks to your client's domain.
- Feed Client Trends: Breakout and fast-rising search queries in GSC automatically feed into the Client Trends engine to inspire fresh content ideas.
- Identify high-opportunity pages: Spot pages with high impressions but low click-through rates (CTR) to optimize page titles and meta descriptions.
Prerequisites
- An active MyContentLab client workspace.
- A Google Account with verified Owner or Full User permissions on the target GSC Property (Domain or URL-prefix).
What data gets synchronized
Synchronization runs automatically every 2 to 4 hours:
- Organic clicks and impressions: Total organic clicks from Google Search results and total search impressions.
- Average CTR and position: Aggregate Click-Through Rate (%) and average keyword ranking position.
- Top search queries: High-performing queries with individual click and impression volume.
